Church Courses

The role of the evangelist is to Preach, Teach and Motivate the church in reaching out. OK so you an debate that if you like. But let's face it there are a lot of people attending church week in week out who have never had the joy of successfully sharing their faith. But that's just nothing compared to all the billions of people who haven't had the good news of Jesus Christ explained to them in an easy to understand coherent way.

The courses listed on this page fall into one of two categories:
Outreach Tool - useful for for seeking to understand the Christian faith
Training Tool - a tool equiping those in the church to share their faith

Some people may not want to share, but given encouragement and the right tools many people start to engage with those around them making a difference for the Kingdom.

If you are responsible for evangelism in your church you could sit down and spend months writing your own course to help equip your church. Alternatively you could stop trying to reinvent the wheel and use one of the courses already out there.

The Alpha Course - Outreach Tool
Probably the best known (and most successful) course about Christianity in the World. Originally written as a course for giving new Christians a better grounding in their faith it has been used by many churches as their number one outreach tool. This is a complete course in a box and can be easily run using videos (or dvds). It can be run in small groups or with hundreds of attendees. Although it has a session entitled 'how and why should I share my faith'  it is not training people in a practical way.

Blowing Your Cover - Training Tool
This is a course that trains your church members in sharing their faith. An out of the box solution for changing the way your church evangelises. If your church considers evangelism a 'bolt-on' then this course will help change it to become part of the heart of the church.

Calling Out - Training Tool
Calling Out is a serious attempt to provide a practical, all-round guide enabling all believers to share their faith in Jesus. Calling Out is written for all Christians, from new believers onwards, in a fresh lively and jargon-free style. The comprehensive materials include all you need to readily run for course for any group size. Including leaders guides and participants packs. Written by J.John it is certainly worth considering.

Foundations Course - Outreach Tool
The foundations course is written by John Groves at Kings Church Hastings and can be used as an outreach tool for seekers or as an excellent follow on from Alpha. Run over a series of weeks the materials supply excellent groundings in key areas of Christian faith and stimulate productive discussions. To purchase email the Kings Church Hastings office. Looking Closer - Outreach Tool
